Alaska Cruise 2011
Saturday, October 8, 2011
out of touch–sorry
I broke the cardinal rule of any on-line communication – I have not updated since forever.
Since my last entry, we have been on an Alaskan Cruise, drafted in Fantasy Football with Keith, been to a Sounder and Husky game as well as having several more barbeque parties.
Alaskan Cruise was wonderful – ate a lot and saw a lot.
In Juneau, we saw Mendenhall Glacier along with a bear, ate at Twisted Fish, walked around town.
In Skagway, we met up with Ned and met Jesse, then went Ziplining in the Denali’s. Then shopped and finished off the trip with a wonderful dinner at the Stowaway restaurant that Jesse worked at. In Ketchikan, we actually went snorkeling. Not the calm blue waters of the Caribbean but it was fun. We walked the town afterwards with what little time we had left.
We spent a day going through the Glacier Bay which was relaxing and gorgeous!
In Victoria, we had nice weather finally and decided to spend our time going on a double decker bus tour.
Hopefully I would take so long to get another update.

Mariner Game–this is suite!
How is it that you can go to a Mariner game and have fun while they go off and lose the game. What is up with these guys? Can someone tell me how a perfectly good player turn to Sh-t as soon as he puts on a Mariner uniform. I was not in love with Lou when he was here but he sure knew how to push a team to it’s potential. This is why we don’t have good Seattle teams. The coaches don’t know how to coach.
But we were happy campers up in the WF suite enjoying food, family, and friends.

Climbing Tower
I thought this was an interesting video – climbing to the top of a cell tower that is over 1700 ft

Happy 80th Birthday Dad!
Sooooo my brother, Butch, and I went to Boston this weekend to meet up with Tommy and Carol to surprise my Dad for his birthday. Neither my Mom or my Dad had any idea we would be showing up. We walk into their house on Saturday morning and he almost didn’t make it to his 80th birthday (which was on Tuesday the 26th). I have never seen him make the face that he did when he saw me.
Then my brothers took him to play some pool and have some MAN time!
Later on Saturday, we had a surprise birthday party, which was a lot bigger surprise since he said he didn’t want one but what does he know, right?
Soooo, when he walked into my sister’s kitchen we all yelled SURPRISE but this time we captured his face digitally and with some ingenious cropping and luminosity curve manipulation …
… another interesting facial expression.
Happy Birthday Dad – we love you
We went to look at FOLIAGE because Butch’s wife, Cheryl, told him he had to come back with FOLIAGE PICTURES! Do you not have trees in Florida!!! We have fun looking at the fall colors in Concord and even visited Walden Pond but check out this old cemetery with slate headstones.
